need advice (be prepared to read a story)

OKay im stumped i have a 88 crx dx and i have just bought slk mercedes tail lights, i am going to shave the in and take out the stock ones. and shave all the glass in the back of my ride now the problem is i have a RCI fuel cell in the hatch its a 8 gallaon tank and its not that big but i shaved the stock door cap, no the real problem is i want to shave all the seams on the hatch, on the back of the car so the back of the car has no seams, but then i cant open my hatch to fill the gas so how would i custimize my trunk to open from the very top of the car so there would be no seams, the other reason for closin the bottom of the hatch is i need to fill my tank from a higher point the were the tank is otherwise it wont fill up and i dont want it on the side of the car and the bumper is to low. im stuck

I've seen people set it up so one of the taillights can swing out on a hinge or something and they have the gas cap inside there.....I dunno if you can do something like that or not with the plans you already have.

you can use a gas door from a motor cycle, like a honda 929, and mount it in the hatch door.

I liked the idea of using the roof! put an eclips gas cap on the roof and run a tube down to the tank... That ought to be high enough!

you could also use a magnet on the body of the car, and metal on the taillight, itll stick good

ok, you hinge the taillight to the body. then you epoxy a small magnet to the taillight, and make a small bracket to mount on an adjoining piece of the body, that way when you close the taillight/gasdoor, it wont open again on its own. but if you tug on it a little, itll come undone. im assuming you know how magnets work
