Question Lowering my 99 Blazer

I'm looking into lowering my 99 Blazer, but i'm not sure exactly what i need to do this. I know that i can use spindles, coils, or a control arm for the front, and blocks or leafs in the back. I will also need shocks and a new alignment. Can i get a good looking drop with only coils and blocks, or is there something else i need. Anyone with knowledge about this pls respond. thanks

jeff

what you'll need to do depends on a couple of factors. what kind of ride do you want, how low do you want to go and how much $$ to spend.

if you wanted a slight drop of say a 2"/3" then i would reccomend a spindle/block drop. spidles are the best 2" you can get out of the front, even if they are a little more expensive than coils. you can get 2" bell tech spindles for $150 or less and the blocks are 20-30 bucks.

a conservative drop (4"/6") i would say a 2" coil and a 2" spindle and a 3" leaf spring and a 3" block in the rear. you may have to do a notch for 6" but im not sure. cost for this drop would be $400 or less total.

anything more and i would have to reccomend you go with an adjustable suspension. Air lets you go as low as you want without all the inconveinence of a low truck. cost is of course a lot higher than a steel drop, but well worth it.

if you want a drop now, but have any interest in going air in the future i wouldnt go more than the 2"/4" for now. any other parts you will wind up tossing when you do your airbag setup. the spindles can be reused when you go air.

of course if you have a 4*4 totally different rules apply and you can disregard all of that. let me know if thats the case.
