Not too long ago my very first mouse I got, Microsoft natural textured died. Not bad for new in 1996. Now I have an MS optic wheel mouse. God no more cleaning those damn rollers !
PS love the wheel feature tooooo.

4 buttons for me...The one on the left side is for my thumb and I have it set up to act as a double-click button(double-clicking with a single click...the pinnacle of laziness
 ) Love my wheel... Ooh, and wireless is the greatest ever...Only way to role  I think I'm enjoying this digital camera business too much

Wheel mouse- 2 buttons plus scroll wheel
Optical- 4 buttons plus wheel. I use the wheel one the most so yeah..........................

 My mouse! 5 buttons including the wheel. The two on the side are "back" and "forward" in IE. That saves so much time. And I love having a laser on the bottom. No gunk to clean out and I can blind annoying people.
