any one here use future floor polish?

I use this stuff alot for my planes, adding a little tamiya flat base, I can have flat clear too. So how's future for cars? can it be polished and shined like tamiya or other brands of clear finished. At $2.49 for lifetime supply, it can't be beat.

Yeah I used it for my clk dtm..... u need a dozen coats before the mirror effect can be seen..... but then, i use a cotton swab to apply the stuff. Most ppl recommend a big flat soft brush so depending on how u apply Future it may or may not require as many coats.

Several gripes i have with Future and cars:
1. Wait at least 1/2 hr between coats..... cuz the stuff dries like jello and then hardens over time... if u dont' wait long enough, u'll end up "peeling" the earlier coats, creating this messy, stick yellow blob... wash up with water and try again (if it hasn't already messed up ur paint job)
2. Doesn't like water... turns yellow/brown with water for some reason, so don't bother using a wet towel to wipe off the excess... use ammonia to do that
3. I couldn't get Future to work with my airbrush... though most ppl say they have...

Yeah, I use future from time to time. Actually I use the Australian equivalent which is Johnson's Magic Shine. Never tried to airbrush it but wipe it on with a cotton bud, or tissue. Use it mainly on clear surfaces to seal in decals. Only ever used it on a car body once, have deen scared away from using it any more by a few horror stories of cracking over time. That said the one car I used it on has not cracked after almost three years!

I used to use Future for car bodies, but now I think a good lacquer clear coat is less time consuming. With future, you have to apply many coats and wait for it to dry, with a lacquer you can just spray on two or three coats and polish it in a few days. Now I use Future to create good flat/semi gloss coats, and to clear small decal'd parts.

I have used future on car bodies as well. The stuff is really thin so you'll need at least a good 10+coats before u can polish/sand it to a brilliant shine..

I airbrush mine. It's a cheap alternative to lacquer clear coats, but like daggerlee says, u can put like 3 coats of lacquer clear on and your set..

on the plus side, future is acrylic (less harmful), smells better than lacquer too!
