Do Chips/ECUs Exist for 99G20t
All of the names for chips that I have been given are only for P10s. I need a chip for my P11.
Any suggestions, names of manufacturers, websites, modifications etc...? |

You're gonna have to call them up or email them because they dont list an ECU for anything over '95 I think. Tell me if they have them

DO NOT, under any circumstances buy anything from JET regardless of what they may tell you. An ECU independently purchased from them turned out to have NO modifications to the maps what so ever. Totally stock.

1) Header 2) CAI 3) Cams The cams make more power, but the CAI is 1/3 the cost. The ECU won't get you a whole lot of power by itself. It's nice because it does improve driveability a lot (at least the JWT ECU) and throttle response. For even a modestly modified NA engine, I would only expect an ECU to get you about 5-10 hp MAX. Probably closer to 5.

Now the JUN ECU..... That I would call hella expensive. When JUN first came here they charged $1k. I don't know what the going rate is now.

oh ok...never heard of JET....regarding ECU...I recently called JWT and said they can't do any 97+ ECU...only under 97....I guess its the OBDII but I doubt it...I think they cracked it...

When Nissan went to OBD-II they changed the ECU archetecture (sp?). JWT has yet to crack the code for most OBD-II ECUs. They can do a OBD-II SE-R ECU up to 96. In 97 the archetecture changed again, and yet again in 2000 (or maybe it was 99). And I assure you, if JWT cracked the code, they would offer the ECU. Why would you say shit like that? I just cannot fathom why you would say things like that. You have no basis for it other than deciding in your own head that they decided to lie to you and decide not to sell to a large segment of the performance Nissan market.

P10DET
Do you really think I just got that out of the top of my head???? Check this site and look at the Power Pages site http://www.importtuner.com/archives/toc/toc1099.jsp http://www.importtuner.com/archives/toc/toc1299.jsp These are two issues that import tuner used on my car... They put a already programmed ECU in my car but it only made 1...yes 1Hp....but also gained 3lbs. of torque. They took it out of my car and put my original one back...What we think is that JWT didn't want to make it public yet until it actually makes good amount of power to market...who is going to buy an ECU for $500 and make only 1Hp/3lbs tqe??? So don't come at me like that...cuz you sound like your some kind of god of Nissan...but I must admit that you are very knowledgable....Don't get me wrong but I do like what you write except this one... |

Second, once you crack the code, getting power is not and issue. The maps are the maps. If they can get power with one archetecture, they can get it with another. They just have to copy the maps from another ECU. No big deal. I don't know what the deal is with Import Tuner. Hell, I don't even know if they use good dyno tuning methods. Mike is methodical when dyno tuning so he can get repeatable results. I seriously doubt they had an honest to God JWT ECU. Again, remember that the maps are what makes power and they already have the maps.
