Friend Chipping a PR4 for me... questions
I have a friend who is programming a PR4 ECU for me to run like a stock PM7. Now, he can also provide chips for the ECU so that the now PM7 can use either the standard PM7 Chip, a "'Euro" PM7 Chip, a "French" PM7 Chip and finally a "Mugen" PM7 Chip.
For you smart folks out there, what is the difference between these programs?: PM7 Standard PM7 Euro PM7 French Pm7 Mugen |

Re: Friend Chipping a PR4 for me... questions
There are probably little differences in them...Sounds like a bad idea to me.
Ask your friend what's up he would know better hes the one doing it. |

Re: Friend Chipping a PR4 for me... questions
I appreciate the reply 91 HB. I am thinking that each one would probably be progressively more aggresive in their fuel and timing maps. I'd like to know the Civic/CRX ECU specs for each region of the world. I'm curious as to the differences.

Re: Friend Chipping a PR4 for me... questions
Well, the PR4 with chips came in and I installed the ECU. I found out that the Euro chip has more agressive fuel and advanced timing at lower rpms and at WOT. It leans the fuel mixture and retards the timing at cruising speed this versus the stock PM7 chip. I tested it out against my PM6 ECU and my fuel mileage went up roughly 2.5 MPG and the car feels quicker with the Euro PM7 Chip. Not to mention my idle problem went away and I'm no longer getting the " bucking and hesitation" between shifts that I was getting. My friend was kind enough to send me a stock PM7 ROM chip as well as the Euro, French and Mugen ROM's. I haven't tried them yet but will report any findings.
