Question R35GTR-the suspense is over?

Is this true or is it another speculation? The new GTR due for 2005 will have a 3.3 litre V6 TT engine churning out 4OO plus hp. The car will be based on the G35 Infinity Coupe and engine will be closely based on the 350Z. Torque will be 500Nm flat from 2OOO to 5OOOrpm. It will have GTR AWD system and an array of electronics will control everything including elimination of turbo lags.It also won't be that more expensive than the 34 and NISSAN plan to market it all over the world - hooray for the Yanks...
True?

interesting facts... and should be true...

didn't japan decide to drop the "gentleman's" agreement about the hp ceiling as well?

consider that the rb is a pretty old engine, and is, as admitted by most skyline fans to be outdated, though a great motor to work on...

seeing what nissan is doing and how much effort they're putting into the motor, the tt motor will be a spectacle... there's a thread about it in the jgtc forum...

Actually, I read about the new GTR in an Australian mag called MOTOR in its Jan edition. Also reported was the fact that a not so heavily disguised R33 GTR fitted with 19inch wheels and active suspension was seen being driven by NISSAN man Dirk Schoysman recently at the Nur track.
The long wheel base of the R33 - in fact the 33 is the longest GTR - gives a clue as to the overall size and dimensions of the new GTR. The active suspension is also a dead giveaway.
So goes the rumour mills.......

Sounds good to me

R34 GT-R SKYLINE : A V6TT has been speculated for a while now, the only question has been, what size

*Edit*

Ahem, R33, do you know if it's actually an R3* car or is it going to just be the GTR?

The skyline and GTR names have been split up.

so you've either got the skyline model or the GTR there is not Skyline GTR anymore.

and I thought it was going to be called the V35 GTR rather than the R35 as it's not being powered by an RB series engine anymore.

Ok IMO the new r35 engine will be a TT version of the already amazing 3.5L found in the 350Z. I see no point in developing another engine when they already have such a perfect one it would be a waste of money.

I woundn't call that motor perfect bu any stretch of the imagination. The RB is a tried and true warrior and iti s reputation for being able to produce huge hp numbers with actually little mods to speak of and on pumped gas.

R33.

Did the mag quote the R33 GTR as having the longest wheel base?

I agree with neutrino . . .

Now if it happens than I am sure that Nissan has a reason for doing so. But what is the point in using/developing a new engine i.e. VQ33. . . when nearly every Nissan from the Pathfinder to the G35 is using the current VQ35???? Seems like a waster to me!!! Any way isn't the VQ33 the previous engine used in the Maxima and Pathfinder? If so than it is really not new is it???
