Hm, I think he means things specific to the 300ZX kit.

You might not want to do this model til you build up your skills, the windows and tail lights require a lot of masking.

I'm doing the kit now, it pretty straight forward if you leave it standard and don't mod it.

From what I remember, the only issue was the masking for the interior, and the windows...and I think the instructions call for a black stripe around the body which can be hard to paint cleanly.

You can use decal strips or rub-down transfer lines (Mecanorma, Alfac, etc. from office supplies shops) for stipes like this.
Especially the rub-down ones look really nice (if you apply them with patience) since it adds a different shade of satin black to the model.

grey, not black trim on my real Z

Although the instructions call out for satin black trim, etc, the rubber, headlight housings and plastic trim on my 1:1 black 300zx turbo is a dark metallic grey!!! When I've seen models of the Tamiya Z, the black trim doesn't have the right scale appearance in my opinion. The closest colour is XF-56 (metallic grey) with just a little flat black added. Tamiya's Gun metal (X-10) is about the right scale colour, but a little too dark and too shiny.
Good luck!!

I have the kit also but not started....i'd say watch out for the masking of the windows and rear lights which look the hardest to do
