2000 Honda Accord EX V6 radio hot wire
Of the about 15 wires in the back of the audio console, which is the hot wire that would turn an amp on and off?
I tried solid blue and solid red by splicing into them and neither worked. anybody help me out here i'm trying to add a little bass in the trunk and have it all set up except getting the amp to turn on and off with the radio isn't working like i think it should be i have the ex v6 2000 accord so i have the 1 cd in dash and 6 in the trunk with no tape player. thanks, BOO |

not sure about this one but amp power shoiuld be coming from the batter and not ur head unit. you could set up a separate shut off switch to power the amp but trying to run it through the radio seems like more headache than it worth. good luck!

I don't know if this would be of any help, but on mine I did the same thing. I added an amp to the stock radio. I have the 6cd in dash radio. Basically at first everything was trial an error. There should be 3 wires that are thicker than the rest. For me I tried the one all the way to the right(sorry I forgot the color scheme) But yeah I struck gold since that one was the control for the amp.

Here's what u do... your amp should have a remote on and off connection in the back. you take that and sun it to the head unit of your car, and just attach it to the power wire of your radio. That way, whenever your radio comes on, your amp will come on too.
