Angry Turbo Focus RS

I am looking for some opinions on how people feel about them not bringing the Turbo RS to the states. I heard that the Turbo RS that is now on sale in europe isnt going to be sold in the states due to the fear it will hurt the SVT Focus sales. Now I dont really care because I wouldnt buy one even if they were going to be sold here, but I want to hear what someone who would buy the RS thinks. Here are the RS specs, 0 to 60 in 6.4 seconds, max out at 144 mph, its supposed to handle better, stop faster, and look better then any other focus, 215 PS or 218hp, 2.0 liter Duratec RS with a 8.0:1 compression ratio, garrett GT2560LS turbo, boost recirculation valve, intercooler, 5 speed MTX75 manual tranny, quaife ATB torque-biasing differential, front track is 2 inches wider, lowered an inch with sachs racing shocks, anti-roll bars tuned, 18 by 8 inch OZ wheels, Michelin p225/40r-18 tires, brembo 4 piston calipers in front, clamping vented discs and solid discs in back with 2 piston calipers. Hope I didnt miss anything, tell me your opinion.

Red face turbo focus rs

i think it sounds like one hell of a focus but i think that i will stick with my escort. all the work that i have done there isn't a focus that i've seen that would be able to keep up. my little escort is a f***king demon on the street.(curvy or straight)

Cool Oh Yeah!!!

I would purchase one. The RS line of Ford's have always been something of a legend. The Escort RS was capable of 450hp!!! This little demon should be able to get cranked to 350hp with no problems. (it is only running about 1 bar of boost, a street car could handle 1.5 to 1.75 no problems.) I love my little zx3 for it's handleing, reminds me to drive smooth with the little engine though. After having a 4.0 Ranger turned up to about 210hp at the rears you learn to slide. Now I am learning to steer again.

I would buy one based that it has awesome potential and would handle like a race car off the floor.

I was disapointed with SVT performance #'s. I expected more so I didn't buy one. You can't boost them due to the high compression ratio and Ford could have got more power than 170. Plus unlike most americans I follow WRC. So the one downside to the new RS is it is not AWD.

True, many Americans do not follow the WRC or know what RS is or what its history if it was brought here. Talk about Cosworth they would ask who that was. Anyhoot, I would by one in a heart beat if it was available here. As far as Ford saying it would hurt their SVT line couldn't they just do a little rebadging to straighten it out.

SVT R!!!

The SVT R would be a great start. With all the other companies doing an R version of something or the other Ford could really step up then and have a full line up.

Focus
Focus zetec
Focus SVT
Focus SVT R

Or not to alienate the true enthusiast that knows what the RS is just name it SVT RS. Subaru is pushing the WRX based on Rally here in the states, why don't the US manufactures do that too.

If the US division of Ford was ran more like the Australian division we could have alot of fun, and alot of people driving bowties crying.

here's for the General

There is the RS which is a turbo FWD and RS Cosworth which is turbo AWD from what I understand.
Apparently the RS Cosworth may be coming to America to compete with the WRX STI and Evo VIII but I can't say for certain.

If the cossie came here i dont know many people that would pay 30k for a focus. I would, i just dont think it would be a big seller. And a focus that could beat mr fords mustang, his baby....i dont think it will happen.

Thumbs up Buying a Focus RS

Hey everyone. I own a 2002 ZTS Focus. I LOVE my Focus! It has every option you can think of. But the car is getting a little old and I have had some technical problems, which I am completely unhappy with. The car is a year and a month old and has stalled 10 times, had to have the tires replaced due to bad alignment, and a replaced stereo (I have the mach system). So, as you can figure, I am already ready to upgrade. I am looking to get the SVT as soon as my payments are equal to trade in value and I can do an even trade and get the SVT without owing on the car I currently own. Anyhow...does anybody know any info on the RS, if they are able to be purchased and shipped to the US and where can I go to look into purchasing one? I have been looking for sites, but I cannot find any. Is it even possible to purchase one without leaving the states?! I appriciate any info. Thanks guys!

want the RS? move to europe, thats the only way your getting one. Id look at an RSX or the SVT maybe srt-4. Your prolly gonna lose a lot in trade value tho unless you do it soon.

Well, thanks. Maybe I will go there and buy one. They sound pretty cool. And I already checked on it, I owe more on my car than it is worth for a trade in, but in a few more months, I will be able to trade it in and get away even. Thanks!
