Smile finished fiber glassing...

i finished fibrglassing the switch box for my brothers bag. here are some pics.





i still need to sand and paint, but its my second thing and came out really good to me anyway.

did u just make it out of cardboard and fiber glass over it? I am starting to work with fiberglass...not as easy as i thought it should be! ill live tho.

i know but you get the hang of it pretty easy.
heres a pic of my door pannel insert. i put (2) 6" speakers in it. im doing the other one now.

i did custom kick panels for a friend once...pretty easy if you find some good sites with well written how-tos....

what type of fiberglass do you use for sub boxes. When iwent to the store i saw fiberglass mate and fiberglass cloth. can you use both?

for sub enclosures, its best to use a thick dense fabric that can be manipulated to do what you want. most people in the bisiness use fleece. its a great material and i leaves it very strong and usually you dont need to reinforce it afterwards. i use matting becuase when its resigned, for me ots easier to play with.

i was just wondering, what did u use as the mold for that fiberglass box? cause i have switches and i just started working with fiberglass, and ur box gave me a good idea. did u use styrofoam or what as ur mold?
