did you use a gloss coat after applying the color cause i've heard that it makes the colors really shiney.

the best paint is OEM Paint...Dont paint your dash pieces...it looks like crap...it will fade and crack...and you will regret it later on...plus people will most likely make fun of you....

I agree with BrokenLimits ... been there done that and ended up buying myself a whole new interior. But Krylon does have high gloss paint that you can try using. You can try using automotive paint as well if you have access to the equipment.

where can you pick up OEM paint and what do you mean by "dash pieces"? I'm guessing the whole thing.

LoL dude no ones mentally and verbally raping just educating...I would re-paint it I am saying you will regret it...the dash looks good like it is. The only thing I might do to a dash is get a Civic Type R Gauge Trim, or change to an Si Cluster or Civic Type R Cluster or if you were really into it some people have taken out there entire dash and put in a Type R dash or a GSR dash....

I've read a lot of horror stories on here about painted dash pieces fading and cracking and chipping and all the like. But I haven't yet seen anyone mention using a plastic/vynal painting catalyst.

I do believe that at most paint stores, or automotive paint stores, you can buy a kit of sorts that will help to prepare a plastic or vinal surface to accept and hold paint.

Now, would I leave the OEM, depends. If you were sure you could paint it and get the look you want, go for it. If down the road you'll end up with that spakled ass look, well then.....

Your call, but I think that you can treat the plastic and vynal parts so that they will hold the paint, or at least for a longer period of time - ask the paint store folks.

Not true, I did mine a long time ago and it still looks great and have only heard a handful of negative comments compared to a ton of upbuilding comments.
