Very 1st Race.....

Ok this place is kinda boring lately so lets all share our very 1st race ever.....if this post has been posted before my bad im too lazy to go look :finger:

ok well my very 1st race was in my car *1991 civic hb si* bone stock and it was against a 98 or so cavy with intake and muffler we were friends then and i asked him to race and he said no and then everyone that was around started callin him a pussy and what not and then he finally said he would so we go out to this back road thats not far away and we line em up my friend got in the middle and droped em, we both spun in the beggining me pullin on him some and when i hit 2nd i chirped it hard and i just left him from there i had about 5-6 car lengths on him by the end of the 1/4 mile *it was measured roughly before the race* and i just got into 4th and i was anywhere from 85-93 mph we met up and i thanked him for the race with a big ass grin on my face and my adrenaline rushing it was one of the best feelings ive ever had in my life

.

Aside from a Geo Metro racing a KIA, that must of been one of the slowest races ever. Whats up with calling the guy pussy? That ain't right if he didn't want to race you shouldn't provoke him like that. Some people are afraid to race especially illegally.

1989 Mazda Mx6 GT Turbo(me) vs. a 97ish Eclipse GS
Both stopped at a light at the top of a hill and revved on each other. He got the jump on me but I pulled ahead during second gear and ended about 2 lengths in front at the end of 3rd. He had an exhaust I saw but that's probably it.

I was 14 and driving my 1974 brown dautsun pickup across the back field on the farm. In my rearview I see this dirt bike weaving in and out between stumps and rocks trying to catch up. So I punch it and try to stay ahead. finally we both end up at a stop( had to open gate to next field) Hey it was my brother. He revs up, I new it was on so I looked aver and gave him the nod. I rev up to 3000 rpm and on 3 honks drop the clutch. Dangit, it sputters and dies, dirtbike pulls ahead. I crank and crank, yes! its starts, black smoke billows from the exhaust and its on. I mash it through the gears, but to no avail. the dirtbike reached the other gate first.

The very first race that I can remember was in the GTC. I was headed to work back in Boulder, Colorado. I was headed down one of the main roads and came to a stop light. I had only had the LeBaron for a few days and hadn't really opened her up. Up next to me pulls this early 90s Honda Prelude. He had an exhust and aftermarket wheels plus some low profile tires. That was about all I could come up with. He throws a rev at me, and I figure hell, I'm game. I knew the car was quick for its age but I had no idea. The light turned green and I dumped the clutch at about 4000 RPM. With the tires loosing traction I pulled ahead of him, and once they gripped I was gone. I left him about seven or eight cars behind before I shut it down and before I reached the next intersection. What a damn rush! That was the day I became a huge advocate of this car and what it can do.

...So I leave a friends hockey game around 9:30 on a friday night and I hit a stoplight with a two lane entrance to the expressway. Im in the right lane drivin my 97 civic dx(intake and exhaust) and ive got a friend with me in the car. A 94-95 Mustang (V-6....yes its a 6 just so all you know) rolls up next to me decked out with dual 2 in exhaust pipes, a GT-R badge, shitty tint job and dingel balls in the front window. He revs up and his 6 roars to life...real cute. So I throw one or two back, and the light turns green..he gets the jump since hes in the closer lane(we had to turn left) and I hit em hard through 3rd gainin on him fast, by the end of the lane when they all merge I had 2 cars on him and I had hit 90..not too bad for a dx with nothin much to go on.....He thed proceded to follow up with a ricer fly by while I laughed my ass off....

I dunno... a mini truck with a 190hp V6 will get moving pretty quick.

enough to hang with most 'rice'.

First race?.... hmmm... Well I can tell my first GOOD race...

Me Vs TerminalV

Weapons of Choice Me- 1970 Nova w/ its original 350 Vs TerminalV's 1967 Mustang w/ its original 200ci I6.

We lined up at the light, I staged up by power braking slightly letting the rearend load up. I could feel the rear chassis raise off the suspension as it began to almost slip (burnout). TV just rev'd up to who knows what... No Tach in the Stang.

Light goes green, I chirped slightly and launched hard he Chirped it as well... but thats about all there was in similarity. I pulled away fairly quickly... the Stang in all its glory was no race car. Neither was the Nova at the time.. but it had enough balls to get out of its own way.

Riding in the 'Stang was fun though... So much rust in the floor pan you could watch the road pass by... not to mention no shift boot... you could watch the lever shift the transmition. And the fumes that leaked in... weee fun times!!!!

my 1st race was in my 88 prelude si. i still had my permit, and me an my dad were cruisin around, when this old nissan pickup gets next to me an starts rev'n. i didn't kno wut to do (i was 15, an had been driving for jus a few months), but i looked at my dad, an he told me to drop it to 3rd an give it some gas. i did this, an left the truck behind. ah...loved that car. it was a piece of junk, but i could beat on it, an not really even care. lost a lot of races an won a lot of races in that car.

my first real race, and not a rolling start race was last night. I was in my 1990 Honda civ lx..automatic ha ha ha..and it was agaisnt a 97 vw golf and this car had an exhaust system, intake, but dont know anything else on the engine. we were at a red light and when i saw the other light turn yellow, i put my car into neutral reved it up to about 5000rpm i think, and when it turned green i slammed it into the G4..it was a pretty clean start we were both even for about..two seconds but after that he kicked it and i tasted alot of dust. but it was fun none the less.

TIP...for your 2nd race, don't do that...unless you want to buy a new tranny

My first real race was in an 89 Gran Prix 2.8 V6 with 5 speed, against a 88 grand am quad four 5 speed. We met on an old road, and proceeded to line up and hit it, The first go round I was beating him by 1 car length, He said he got a bad start, so we lined up again, His launch was perfect and mine sucked, he beat me by about half a car, unsatisfied we went for a third time, both stayed dead even, he could pull in third, but in fourth I pulled back even. Didn't prove anything except driver skills do matter. Lots of fun too.
