Tamiya vs. Fujimi!! Nissan S13
Ok, need some help, I want to get a Nissan S13 and was wondering which from the two companies is better? It's probably going to end up to be the Tamiya one, but in some cases Fujimi makes excellent detail in their cars (Shelby Cobra) so I wanted to make sure!

I think Tamiya's mold is better than Fujimi. but if you going to change wheels, Fujimi kit easier to do. of course you know that...

doesn't Tamiya's come with SR20DET engine detail...? i'm not too sure about that...anyways, i'm in the process of building the Fujimi S13, and so far my only quarble is with the front suspension. no matter what i do, i seem to have alot of toe-in on the front wheels. other then that, it's a pretty damn good kit, and if you get the Initial D one it comes with a ton of tuner decals!

The kits are kind of similar, I say go with the Fujimi because it's easier to modify. Both are curbside, both have pretty much the same amount of interior detail, maybe the Tamiya one has a bit more suspension detail, but it'll be easier to put wheels on the Fujimi one.

from my experience the tamiya S13 is way better interms of detail and accuracy than the fujimi ones. for one the headlights of the tamiya looks more real when painted and you don't need to correct anything in the kit unlike the fujimi.

what do you need to correct on the Fujimi one?? i haven't had any huge correction problems yet...anyways, Malcolm, my digi cam died and i can't seem to find the other battery, so i'll take a picture when i can. in the meantime, here's some of the decals you get: GReddy, Trust, Option magazine, Solex (carburators), Bride (seats), Cusco (suspension parts), Advan (wheels and tires), and a ton more that i can't even remember. mine is going to be TS-19 blue with R33 rims on it (thanks to Chris!). but i need some help from anyone who built this kit. can anyone who's previousley built the Fujimi S13 tell me how to lower it?? i'm also trying to make a drift-style car, but as it sits right now, it's riding way to high to look like a drifter. i also need to know how to put some moderate camber in the wheels. can anyone help me??

Dunno if you mean the S13 Silvia or 180SX here.....
For the 180SX, that depends on which variant you're after. Tamiya offers the original (1989) version only; while Fujimi comes in a number of variants like original spec, RPS13 Earlier Type, RPS13 Latter Type, and serveral tuned versions (Veilside for instance) ![]() Perhaps Tamiya is better for the original spec of 180SX, but I'd suggest you to pick whichever with the body kit and rims you like most. It's important that you like the subject too. ![]() I built the "RPS13 Latter Type" a year ago, the kit's not bad. It comes with a cool-but-not-too-aggressive body kit molded on the body (so, no fitting problem at all with the body kit), and a nice set of rims. I like it. ![]() FYI: Fujimi "OK Racing 180SX" kit, take a look at what's inside the Fujimi S13. http://www.1999.co.jp/asp/GoodsDetai...?It_c=10027424 Fujimi "RPS13 Latter Type" Kit http://www.1999.co.jp/asp/GoodsDetai...?It_c=10000828 The 180SX I built earlier. http://www.cybermodelers.com/events/...ar/ian/ian.htm |

Ianli~ Talking about the Silvia model (see Brians sig)
Brian~ What if I go for the Tohge model, I'm sure it'll come with the extra decals, just not sure which ones! I think I'm going to get the Fujimi model, either that or both, I'm okay if the suspension isn't as detailed in the Fujimi model! Decals baby!
