97
i have purchased a '97 grand prix GT about a month ago. the car was and is in immaculate condition. i put a K@N filter into it and love everything about the car. There is just one thing that confuses me speed wise. acceleration from a stop is great but flooring it doesn't seem that impressive for such a seemingly powerful 200hp engine. Im not expecting speed like a corvette or anything. but it when going through 60mph it seems like the car is only coasting while accelerating. i was expecting a little bit more but it still is a beautiful car that i love.

Ya your stock pcm is what is causing your feeling of only coasting when accelerating. You will notice the samething at 40 to 50 to. Your PCM wont downshift the gears so you stay in what ever gear your in when you floor it at 40 to 50 or 60 to 70 (rough estimates sorry) A new DHP PCM from zzperformance.com. Its 300 plus a 125 core charge but its dam worth every penny of it. It will take care of your problem and improve every aspect of the GT. It will downshift when at those speed giving you the push back into your seat you are looking for. Also that place will have every upgrade you will ever need for your GT or GTP.

Yeah the electronic PCMS suck, i thought putting my exhaust system under it and adding the cool air induction on, it helped it alot but still doesn't like to shift when you mat it to the floor wile goin 40 or so.
