Question Intrax springs?

Hi every one i'm new to posting here, but have been reading around a little before. Remembering how my friend commented "dang this car is LOW" when he first sat in it, I decided to lower my 1991 g20 (hehe) and i'm wondering if i can do it only by changing the springs. Looking at Intrax, they seem to be cheap and i read that they lower the ride quite a bit. I'm thinking to order those online and have a local pep boys install them. (i dont have the tools or knowledge to do it myself)

so my question is..is there anything else i should consider? i dont want to spend a whole lot of money and i want to keep the stock wheels/struts and all if at all possible. Maybe change the wheels in the future.

You can do it, but the ride and handling will be poor.

Intrax are too low without enough spring rate to keep the car from bottoming out. This is what makes the ride of a lowered car so rough in most cases. Also, the stock shocks/struts do not have enough damping to keep the ride from being bouncy.

i don't have my p10 lowered, but it seems to me that intrax aren't very good. this opinion is just from the impression i've gotten from people around this forum. maybe i'm wrong about that, but that's the way i saw it.
like george (p10det) said, the ride and handling wouldn't be that good. i'd recommend saving your money and doing everything at once.

btw, welcome to the forums

I had the intrax springs (still do actually, sitting in a box on the garage floor ) They make the car VERY low in the front and low in the rear. at least that is how it was on my 94 auto (when i had it). I'm guessing the lighter front end of the 5-spd may raise the front up a tad, but i'm not sure how much that would be, if any. I'd sell em real cheap if you are interested, but truthfully, I'd recommend something else, like eibachs, or ground controls, if you can afford em. I love my Ground controls.

I can also attest to the fact that intrax springs will make your ride look nicely lowered, but it will give quite a stiff ride, I had them on for about 10 months. I got some KYB GR2 shocks and that helped alot, but I felt that my ride was a little too low and harsh to drive around UCLA, which has alot of bumps and inclined driveways. Now my intrax are sitting in the garage in my parents house.... Its a hard lesson to learn, but thanks to the AF forums it seems that there are better..altho more expesive options for the P10 which will save you headaches in the future. But hey anyone who is in Southern California and wants to give these springs a go, I will sell them for 120, heck Im not a good salesman am I?
