How was YOUR Christmas Day?

Well? Eat enough turkey to throw up on Grandma? Needed another sherry or 19 to keep the relo's at bay? Kids total RS? Share it all with AF...

And anyone pick up any bargains on Boxing Day?

It's boxing day now, but still too early for most shops to open.

Xmas day was good, fine sunny day all day. Woke up this morning to heavy rain gotta hate Auckland weather.

I hate turkey so filled up on christmas ham instead

Boxing day is the day where you wake up with a hangover and want to beat the living crap out of your family...

No, Boxing Day is just the day after Christmas. In Australia/NZ there are usually massive sales at all big department stores on whitegoods, electrical, clothing etc.

But here in Canada, atm, they don't seem to have that, so maybe it's just a Au/NZ thing.

Boxing day[Traditional holiday in the civilized world,26th Dec].Sitting here quietly reflecting on the Clayton's Christmas that has just happened.Kids are happy with their presents,mother-in-law and father-in-law have made their seperate visits[and thankfully not met on the doorstep],turkey has been eaten, dishes washed, and vast piles of discarded wrappings packed into bags for the recyclers.......

Today will be quieter. It has stopped raining, the kids can go outside for a while to give me some space while I fix the stuff they broke yesterday. Maybe Ishall leave that job for tomorrow, superglue fumes are not the best cure for a hangover.

I had a nice shampane breakfast here at the flat with my Parents, a flat mates father and few friends.
Then off to a turkey dinner at a friends house.
It was only a small turkey, all 6.5kgs of it. (almost didnt fit in the oven),
The ball of stuffing pulled out of it was bigger than most peoples heads.

All in all a good x-mas.

Now its midday boxing day im still undecied if I should hit the shops or not. I might wait for my flatmate to get back and ask her is theres anything good on sale.

Yes, we do have massive boxing day sales. I will be braving the crowds bright and early in the morning to burn some hard earned cash. Hopefully I can get something decent, and not break the bank.

Christmas was good, good food, best fun was a few hours ago. Had Christmas with my friends

And on Boxing day. How ironic, my mother just mentioned it today. And another usage of it is that the day after Xmas the lower class children would take boxes door to door and ask for leftovers.

Re: Bah humbug...

Here in Con-su-merica, the day before/after/during/in-the-same-month-with any holiday is an excuse to have a Boxing Day of sorts, with sales of all kinds, and crazed shoppers bludgeoning each other for piles of junk. Seems to me, despiter our bountiful day-after-xmas sales, our biggest shopping day of the year is the day after our Thanksgiving, which is a day those that work retail have labeled "Black Friday."

Oh, I forgot to say: Spent the day in San Diego with the sister-in-law and her kids. Good times. We had to drive back for work this evening, though...

I was only jelous because it is a NEW vehicle. And I was jelous until I rode in it, and then I felt how rough the suspension was. Then came more laughter when I realized how pitifully slow it actually is..
