VVTL-i VS VTEC

OK ok...
I want to kno wich engine is stronger.
The 99 STOCK Honda Si's DOCH VTEC or
the STOCK 2001 Toyotra Celica GTS's VVTL-i engine?
Which is stronger? For u Celica racers out there, ave u guys beaten Civics with DOCH Vtec?

the VVTL-i is stronger with 180hp the Si has what 175 i believe, and the celica is also lighter, i'm not exactly sure how much a Si weighs but i know a celica GT wieghs 2425lbs and a GT-S weighs 2500lbs
and yes a celica can take a DOHC Vtec civic, i've raced maybe one Si think it was auto or the driver sucked or something but i took it somehow, i have a GT so i'm sure the GTS could do fine against a Si. so to answer your question GT-S can own.

The DOHC VTEC Si's only come in manual. It has 160HP/110 TQ and weighs about 200 lbs heavier than the celica GTS.

The Celica GTS 6 speed runs in the 14.9's-15.1's
Si's= 15.8's-15.9's

GTS will take an SI. A GSR(15.3-15.5) would be a better match, but the GTS will still take it. An ITR is probably the best, but in this case, the ITR(14.6-14.7) will take the GTS.

ahh i c, i dont know much really about honda's, but, i did beat a newer gen prelude the day before new years eve, i dunno how i beat it, but the fact is i did, hopes this helps you make your decision.
