My Shop Van
I have an 86 Aerostar I'm using as a shop van, and I'm going to be swapping out the engine soon.
A while back, Boyd Coddington swapped his Aerostars engine with the 3.8 liter Supercharged mill from the SC Thunderbird. This engine in it's best trim made 230hp/330ftlbs stock, and has potential for much more. Since the van is stripped out, it weighs about 3300 lbs right now, and the 3.8 will actually be lighter, due to the aluminum heads and manifold. It's got an Eaton M90 blower, and should make about 300hp when I put it in the van, using the stock shortblock. I'm expecting 12s, using 4.10s...

Re: My Shop Van
Let me know how this works out. I've been contiplating doing the same thing. However you are looking at more like mid 14's. My friend has a typhoon with the AWD 4.3 turbo putting out 350 hp and 450 ftlb which weighs in at the same as the aerostar and he is at 14.12 in the quarter mile.
