Alex scratches head:

- 45 thread matches when searched the Car Modelling section;
- Easily found on HLJ, HS, or whatever, and readily available;
- There is one in the gallery, and a great example it is as well.

Jay, there are two in the gallery, my '98 version and Warren's original '97 version.

For those that made the r390 I have a few questions

I sprayed the bright red part for the car but somehow the red does not look right. I was wondering for those that made the car could you tell me if I should use the normal red on the car or keep the bright red. Reason I am asking is because when I look at the car under the light the bright red looks kind of orange then red. could be my eyes.

Thanks for the advice.

Did you use primer? Which one?

I'd say that bright red is the one you need to stick to as the decals that come in the kit (transition zones from red to black) will not be matched with any other paint.

Did you shake the can properly and warm it up befor spraying as well?

yeah I use the primer, actually aotomotive primer to be exact. I just did a first coat of red paint right now so maybe that is why it looks a little dull.

Yes, I think that's the reason. Now spray 2-3 progressively heavier coats (starting with an almost mist coat for the next couple of times). Then polish it real well. make sure you have some more paint left as you'll need it for later when you polish through to the primer.
Aternatively, you canskip polihing the red one until after you spray black, apply al the decals and clearcoat it (a few times). This way you'll hide the "transition" decals - and just polish the clear. The downside here is that if you polish through the clear you will permanently damage the decals.

You chose a rather tough first kit there. It's agreat kit, but somewhat, IMO, hard to get just right for a beginner.
