Well i would say its either the

H1 Humvee or the Mercedes Gelandevagen. I never heard of unimog though.

Also the wrangler can fit more places than these bigger SUV's.

BTW i would aslo include the Range Rover into the poll.

I'd say the Hummer H1 becuase they use them in the military and all they do is off-roading.

A Unimog is basically an off-road only truck made by Mercedes. It's pretty massive and can't do well on-road. You should check them out, they're pretty bad ass. I didn't put the Range Rover on here because it got too yuppy, I can't imagine anyone taking it off-road besides a dirt trail to their winter home.

Why is this poll retarded?

The Unimog is awsome, but to big to be really great.

And where is the Toyota Land Cruiser?

But at the end of the day its a hard decision between the jeep and either of the Land Rovers.

Depends where you want to go I guess.

Comparing a Discovery or a Grand Cherokee to a H1 or a Unimog doesn't sound a wee bit strange to you?

Yeah, it does a little. But only when you compare their off-road performances only. It's a little more comforatable wheeling in a Grand Cherokee or Land Rover compared to an H1 or Unimog. I probably should have been more thorough in asking what I was looking for but oh well. It's all just opinions anyways.

It does depend on your opinion. On what you like.Me?If Im going off-roading then I don't give a rats rear about comfort.Lets just go have some fun!Ya know?So I'd rather go off-roading in the H1.And because your less likely to roll over because with the H1's wideness it spreads it's weight over a large surface were as the other two are probably more top heavy...but then again, rolling over is also fun.

Jebus, why is this a hard decision, the small wheelbase, the dual lockers the low range transfercase make the jeep the best all around stock offroad machine.

Why isnt an Early Bronco one of the choices

you guys are aware that when mentioning 'off-road' that leads to other things. like what types? goin over large rocks, a shorter wheelbase would be better. where a jeep wrangler would fare better than the longer and wider hummer. but traversing a desert sand dune, a dune buggie would be the choice. forging through the forest in the hummer isn't such an easy task when you have to figure that you'll face squeezing through tight areas that aren't ideal for the hummer. the hummer has limitations where a jeep wrangler would find with ease just due to the smaller size and shorter wheelbase. in a wide open area, the hummer can dominate, but when it comes to smaller and tighter places, i'd pick a jeep wrangler. but forging up a steep incline or hill, i'd pick a hummer for more stability. picking the best off-road vehicle isn't as easy as you'd think. best at what type of off-road? 8" deep mud, snow? climbing rocks, digging through sand? some are just better at certain areas than others.
