1/1 Polish or Tamiya Compound/Wax?
Which do you think gives a better shine?

To me it depends on what you are using it on. I just started using automotive lacquers so the 1:1 polishes and waxes are better for shine but on the stuff I did before with model paints, I don't want to risk damaging the paint so I use the Tamiya compound and wax combo.
I also have a lot of Mini Z bodies which I am unsure of the type of paint so I use the Tamiya stuff on them too. |

I've used nearly everything from the cheapest polishes (turtle wax @ 1.29) to meguiar's show car glaze (9.99 a bottle), and have found that tamiya compound is undoubtedly the best stuff to use. A runner up though, would be meguiar's/mothers cleaner waxes. Very good stuff that is slightly abrasive to polish and leaves a squeaky clean wax shine.
