My speedo tops out at 130 mph, but the car doesn't stop at 130.

Well the Civic is speed limited to 180kph, and so the speedo only goes upto 190kph. But I know guys in Europe have had them at the rev limiter in 5th and showing 240kph, so thiers goes to at leat 250kph on the VTi. (my civic sold in europe in limited numbers)

But the lynx has a VDO speedo that goes to 300kph.
Although haveing the aerodynamics of a brick it will never actualy go that fast.

180kph/mph. (will be explained!)

The Supra (now sold) was a Jap import, where all cars are limited to 180kph.

Fitted a 5/8 converter (I think thats what it was called) getting rid of the speed limiter changing kph to mph on the speedo. That means that when the speedo read 100kph you were actually doing 100 mph.

My Sentra = 160 kph
My Caprice = 140 kph

Sad, because the sentra needs to be going down a big hill with a tail wind to get to 160, and the caprice easily buries the needle and never looks back. I really have no idea how fast it would go, since I removed the limiter....

In general, models sold in Europe have 40 kmh (25mph) of marge on their tachymeter.

My speedo goes to 130, and then pegs a hair higher than that. I've never tried it myself, but I've heard stories of people redding in 5th and completely buring the needle, so it could probably take a lil more.

That'd be in my 89 Jeep Cherokee 4.0

125 in the Honda. I've pegged the needle several times.
