Cheapest place to get tamiya spray can

Alright they're closing in on me! I went to the auto store today to buy some duplicolor, and when the guy scanned the can the register made a funny chime noise, and I knew what it was

Still got the replacement for the can of paint that I had borrowed from my dad.

I'm considering its worth the extra money to go ahead and order tamiya spray cans through the internet, considering my situation and all. My first choice to order would be HLJ or 1999, but they would have to ship on plane overseas, and I think the pressure change might have some effect on the cans? I'm going to do some searching after I write this post, but any recommendations for places to buy tamiya spray cans would be greatly appreciated.

If you're in no hurry, Roll Models (www.rollmodels.com) sells them for $3.75 a can, but thhey can take 3-4 weeks to ship.

Also, the pressure changes from shipping shouldn't affect it. The pressure inside the can may fluctuate as it is exposed to hotter/colder temperatures and higher/lower altitudes, but overall it doesn't change permanently as it is a closed system. Plus, if it did, Tamiya and all other spray paint companies would have to ship all their spraypaint by boat to other countries! :hehe:

I don't know about Rollmodels, but I do know about www.plastic-models.com
Daggerlee, last time I spoke to the folks at Tamiya, there stuff did come in by boat, and that was about a month ago. Unless something has changed since?
Most spray cans have to be shipped 'secure package' or ground, there is a surcharge on air-freighting them because of the pressurised contents and flammable chemicals involved, something worth looking into before you order any?

All pressurized cans from overseas are shipped by boat that take a month or longer.

huudo, wasn't aware about that. At any rate, HLJ does ship spray cans out of the country via UPS, which most likely does it through air travel. My spray cans came wrapped in some paper, though, so maybe it's kind of "under the table" deal that they don't want customs to know about, although the box it came in made rattle sounds
