2000 Grand Prix 6cyl heavy stutter on acceleration
I have a 2000 Grand Prix 3.8L V6 that has a very heavy stutter on acceleration. The condition worsens the longer the car is running. Had it checked on scanner and got the following codes:
P0131 Oxygen sensor signal low bank 1, sensor 1 P0137 Oxygen sensor signal low bank 1, sensor 2 P0237 Knock sensor 1 low signal P0332 Knock sensor 2 low signal P0336 Crank shaft position sensor 18/24x out of range P0403 EGR solenoid circuit problem P0404 EGP feedback signal out Any ideas where to start? Car seems to run fine above 65mph. We have also not seen any significant loss of fuel milage. Car has 280K+ and runs well beside the stutter. Transmission was rebuilt about 6 months ago. |

Re: 2000 Grand Prix 6cyl heavy stutter on acceleration
Just to be sure I'd reset the PCM module with an odb-ii scanner and see if any of them (DTCs) return to ensure they are valid. From face value what appears to be common to all DTCs is the PCM 5 volt reference signal. Could be low, missing, shorted or loaded down by a bad sensor or a wiring problem. Some of the DTCs are output state conditions right out of the PCM module drivers.

Re: 2000 Grand Prix 6cyl heavy stutter on acceleration
I agree with Bob. Clear all the trouble codes, and re-check when the CEL comes back on. Since many are pointing to low voltage signals, I'd take the car the Advance or Auto-zone and have them check the charging system and battery for you (they do it for free). Make sure the battery cable connections are clean and tight.

Yeah...my 00' GP V6 does the same thing at times. I have a hesitation or stutter on the acceleration. I don't know what causing it to do that. Can anyone help?
