1/24-1/25 Offy engine, who makes?
Hi all.
Does anyone knows who make a 1/24-1/25 Offy engine? Etzel Speed Classics uses to make, but closed doors. Any help is welcome (and any engine for trade also ) Cheers. |

I know the revell rat rodz '29 ford pickup has all the stuff to build an "offy" fourbanger. other than that, I'd try Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland. I know there's a resin company that sells down in dallas at the MCMA showdowns every year, they deal in old drag motors, and hot rod stuff. You could sift through www.themcma.com for that one.
I'm sure others are out there, and someone will chime in shortly.

Re: 1/24-1/25 Offy engine, who makes?
Problem is, RSXSE240, the Offy that Carioca is asking about is specifically the Offenhauser 4-banger used in Indy cars from the 1950's up until the early 80's. It's a twin-cam unit that is very different from the Model A four in the Rat Rods kit.
Unfortunately, Carioca, your best bet is to track down one of the AMT Watson Roadster kits or either the AMT McLaren or Gurney Eagles (the later Eagles from the 70's) and start adding detail. Really the Etzel's piece was the only aftermarket Offy I'm aware of, and it was by far the best.
