a citroen zx

does anyone know where i can find new/used parts for a citroen zx 1.8? I do not know for sure if citroen still manufactures this car anymore, but I am in need of new shock absorbers (preferbly oem), but do not know where i can find them here in the states. Can someone point or link me to a site, address, or someplace i contact...any help is appreciated,

Thanks!

Look on this site : http://www.frenchrev.com
Indeed it's surprising that you have a ZX in the USA, it wasn't sold there.

In the past 25 years, the only Citroens that have been legally available in the US have been the CX (sold in the US as the CX Auto) and the XM. I've been told that CX Auto considered bringing the BX over, but I have never heard of one actually being sold. The last time Citroen was officially in the US, they sold the SM in the early-mid 1970s.

CX Auto was legal in the US...they just weren't official in the eyes of Citroen.

The XM was actually sold in the US as a Citroen. There have been a few companies that have imported cars without the authorization of the manufacturer. In the years following gray-market cars (back when companies could just "bring a car up to regulations" and sell it), CX Auto brought over Citroens, a company called AutoDelta is currently importing Alfa Romeos, and Europa International imported the Mercedes-Benz G-Class for nearly two decades. As few cars as these companies imported, at least they make the vehicles available when the manufacturer won't or can't.

Besides, some of these importers make funny stories once they're gone (and sometimes while they're still around).

I was completely surprised to read about a ZX in the US??

But hey, it's a good car, very much fun to drive, escpecially with the passive steering rear-axle.
I'm driving my second now. First one was a 1.9i Volcane, now it is a 1.9D but it's starting to have difficulties in running problem free. Between 160 and 180.000kms radiator, brake discs and pulley for main distribution belt needed to be changed, and it starts sounding a bit "hollow" in the low revs. Maybe I should start thinking of replacing it...

Indeed, that's odd. First, the Americans are just going to know and appreciate the hatchback (as Golf, 307, etc.) with the Golf and the Focus and the ZX has not an as attractive design as its competitors.
