88 Accord vs. 89 mustang

I have an 88 honda Accord with an upgraded ignition system and K&N filter with a manual transmission. My friend just bought an 89 Ford mustang with the 4cylinder in it and it was an auto. He was trash talking about how he could beat me......So we went to an empty school parking lot around 5PM in May of 2002....We looked all around and saw no people in sight. So we lined up......took one last look around......counted to three and was off......I got him on the jump and stayed about half a car length in front of him and when I hit about 35 mph I heard police sirens so I immediately stopped my car while my friend kept going and put his hand out his windshield as if he won....but then he saw the cops too and he stopped......To make a long story short....we got sited for wreckless driving, got 4 points on our liscenses, and had to pay a $90 fee ($30 court and $60 ticket) ....And my insurance went up $25 more per month.......sucks......but I beat that AMERICAN piece of trash!!!!! HONDA RULES!!!

While I find it funny that someone would be proud of owning a Mustang II, I do think that calling American cars trashy is just plain ignorant.

Actually the mustang II was started around the 1974 model, and ran for a year or so. My first car when I turned sixteen was an 1989 mustang 4cyl auto. It was slow. I regularly got beat by broken down corollas.

Really??? I thought those smaller Mustangs with the four cyls in the 80s were Mustang IIs. I guess I am mistaken.

Nah, its those funky looking mustangs from the mid 70s, when they changed the car from about twice its previous size. The 4cyl 80s mustangs are just slow economy.

An 89 Mustang is not a Mustang II.

An 89 Mustang is a FOX bodied car. And the 4cyl is NOTHING to be proud of... really. UNless it was the SVO Turbo (which this one was NOT).

I guarantee you that my car will see 200k miles, there will be no doubt about that. Where's your proof to back up your claims on your car newbie? I've got my timeslips and my dyno printout sitting right next to me, ready to be photographed and uploaded if needed. Where's your proof internet racer? You can make all the claims you want, kinda like those 2f2f cars in the July issue of Sport Compact Car. Claiming something means absolutely dick until you can prove it. STFU noob

The mustang II was made from 74-78. And the 77-78 were the best. They made whats called the King Cobra, Boss 302(Not a true Boss 302 like in 69-70 but still good for it's time) engine with a Huge ass snake on the hood. They also made a Cobra II with a less potent 5.0L.
