Porsche 962 Kenwood - 1/43rd scale - Finished

Yo, me again with another photo session from last weekend. This time not a Merc :finger: but a Porsche, build 2 years ago. This kit is a very basic and cheap Heller kit in 1/43rd but I did some modifs to it. Opened the drivers door, added wiring to the cockpit, seatbelts in place, photoetch screen whiper and exhaust made from plastic tubbing to replace kits decal. The biggest challenge was apart from opening the door, cutting the cockpit window with is a one piece thing - including side windows. But it turned out OK.

Enjoy,

Guido
ps. after this one, 1 more to come and then I'm done with my older kits...

You have done a very very good job on that kit, MB guy!

This is so funny, but just yesterday I decided taht I want to build all 4 Heller's LeMans 1/43 cars (Jag, Pug, Porsche, and the C9 Sauber). Now I will have something to look up to when building mine (alshough I will not be openning doors, at least that's the plan)

Have you build any other Heller 1/43 kits?

Yep, did the Sauber C-9 to stand side by side with my Sauber C-9 in 1/24th scale from Tamiya.

The Citroen ZX Rally Raid isn't far away from my bench either, so that's something for the hollidays to build, as something different to my Benz's.

You have done an admirable work in this Porsche Guido.
The guy that pushed me from planes/tanks to car modelling was a great fan of Heller’s 1/43 collection although I always preferred the 1/20 for F1 cars and 1/24 for the other.

Fantastic job with that Guido, i bet that really catches peoples attention when they view your collection.

I built a Heller 1/43 C-9 many years ago, typical Heller kit but looks good. That model was destroyed a long time ago now!!!

Nice job on a very simple kit. I am amazed at the open door in that scale.

Family Pics (1/24th + 1/43rd) will follow later on, when I get my friends digicam again.

The difference between the C9 and C11. Well they're actually 2 different cars. I've included a pic of the C9 used in 1990 and the C291 raced in 1991. Picture was taken at the end of the 1990 Suzuka event where the C291 was firstly used and driven by the youngsters. And look who's that on the C291 picture there, 12 years ago as a rookie??!! Pics are from the book "Mercedes in Motorsport" - ISBN1 85960 658 x, written by Alan Henry and published by Haynes.

Schum, Wendlinger and HH Frentzen all took turns to share the second C-11 during the 1990 campaign with Jochen Mass as part of the "junior driver training Scheme"

Picture splitt in 2 pieces for convenience.
C-11

C-291

Cheers,
Guido
ps. Studio 27 has a multimedia kit of the C-11. But I know it's expensive, very much so... I've included the link to HLJ Catalogue Page . Also from the picture there you can see the difference from a side view.

You got my opint spot on!

Thanks for being so thorough, if only the C11 kit price didn't bite so much!

Any luck with 190E Evo2 pictures, btw?

Alex

P.S. Guido, you're the man!

It's "Sinterklaas" time over here so I have been busy with the kids and their presents and stuff, so actually I didn't find any time to do a thourough search in my archives. My books reveiled no pictures so I have to start digging in my older magazines, which are upstairs on the ceiling, somewhere... I hope to start searching between x-mas and New-year, if that's OK with you
