snow fall tracking

Anyone want to join me in some snow fall tracking? No need to be exact, just rough estimates.

3-4 days ago we had around 3"s of snow
2 nights ago we had 4"s (all melted by yesterday morning)
Yesterday & over night we had about 1'
Today we've had at least 4"s, and it's still going with no end in sight (at least for the next week).

Re: snow fall tracking

And here I complain about the leaves constantly falling in my yard.

Why do people live in those places? Woohoo for Snowboarding... sheesh...

Re: snow fall tracking

Because my family all live here (well most of them) and I don't have the $ to move more South. As soon as I do have the $, I'm moving the hell out of here though.

Re: snow fall tracking

I see by your profile you live in CNY, whereabouts? I also live in CNY just west of Syracuse near Baldwinsville and Camillus. It started snowing Sunday and finally let up this morning,(Thursday). At my house we received close to 2 feet total since Sunday. The flakes were huge Tuesday.I took some pics with my digital camera and just uploaded them to my computer today. Here is a sampleOh and by the way, yes I live in the "Lake Effect Area)
This was taken from my back deck looking at part of my backyard:

Looking off my deck towards our driveway:

Another picture of the back/sideyard

I took this one last night. As the snow continued to accumulate it actually "bended" in on itself as it got heavier:

And the weather reports are indicating more of the same for this weekend .

Done. After I hit the post button I was surprised at how large they were so I immediately went and resized them to repost .

Re: snow fall tracking

Oh no sh*t, I live in Liverpool. I don't live in the village, but right near the border of Clay. And that's exactly how it looked here too. I'm just glad it's finally all melting now (until it starts snowing again).

Ah, Liverpool. I'm right across the lake. Have any run-ins with the infamous Liverpool police (got my first traffic ticket there back in 1985. 44 in a 30 just at the village line by the Thruway, or the Clay clowns, ( as they're affectionately known? )

Re: snow fall tracking

haha I try to stay out of the village whenever possible. I know people who have been pulled over for going 3mph over the limit through there; they don't mess around when it comes to giving tickets & making their $. But I've delt with the Clay clowns on a few occasions. It's kind of a mix with them, some are really nice, but most have a chip on their shoulder. Like when I got pulled over last year, because the corner of my registration sticker pealed off from my windshield a little. He kept me there for 20 minutes until he got a real call, gave me back my stuff, and simple said "duct tape, duct tape, use it" .

Re: snow fall tracking

We've had about 4-8" this week depending where you live in the Chcagoland area, but the ice has been the killer so far. Last night we had rain which froze as it fell and COVERED the city in ice for the third time in the last week. I had some close calls with black ice last night

This is what it looks like in front of my house. Note the shine off the sheet of ice that is the front yards of the block

Re: snow fall tracking

we haven't had a notable amt here in Binghamton NY... just a inch or so once, then rain, then it all melts, then another inch or so, but we're supposed to get 5-10 tomorrow and have 10-14 by Saturday.

I love snow, keeps all the random fsckers off the street that are too scared to drive in 1/4" or so... yet I still drive to work everyday, and don't bother worrying about anything, especially since I'm the only dumbass on the road if it gets over 3" or so. I Love My Honda... it does great in the snow.
