Little Red Nissan.

Tamiya's "Cabin"Nissan R89C. Paint is VW Maars Red(Duplicolor),a color I cannot get anywher any more. A question for any one that has seen or built this kit, did you ever notice the red decal for the front air splitter has a carbon fiber weave pattern embossed on the decal.

Very cool!

I am working on this same kit right now!

If you don't mind, I have a couple of questions.

How did you get the rims to look so real -- metalic paint or foil?

Did you use the white canopy decals? I was afraid of how they would look so I masked it off and painted it. I plan to just use the gold piping off the decals. Yours looks fantastic so I may have to reconsider!

Somebody gave me a set of wheels they had chromed. I painted the whole car KRYLON white then masked the roof area using a copy of the decal sheet for a guide, then painted the Mars Red(Duplicolor) I then cut the gold stripes from the decal sheet.

I really like the radiators/intercoolers. I've never seen them look that realistic!

A black wash adds the realistic look.

Thanks! Looks like we have the same plan. I hope mine looks half as good as yours.

Nice looking model. I love the engine detail especially the turbo's.

That's kind of a strange place to put the intercoolers though. Where they are they don't get any airflow over them.

Actually, there are two huge air intakes up front between the fenders and under the windshield. I think these fed air directly to the intercoolers?
