I know how you feel, mate.
Last Easter, we went to our holiday house out in the country and took our dog with us. It was Easter Saturday and because he hadn't been there for a while, he was looking around. unfortunatly he got a bit to close to the dirt road, and being a light brown colour, he blended in. Some people lived down the road and always seem to speed down that road. We never too any notice of it until then. He got hit by them. The strange thing is, he didn't have a broken bone or bit of blood on him. He must of ran into the side of the car and had a heart attack.

That was the worse Easter ever.

He was about 16 when he got hit so at least it was quick way to go, and he had lived a long life for a dog.

Sorry, didn't want to take over your thread or anything...

Sorry to hear that. It's good of you to help her go with loved ones by her side rather than stay in pain.

Sorry to hear that, Pman. We just put our dog, Butterscotch, down a few years ago. She had intestinal cancer, and I know it was the better thing to do. Take care.

That is very hard. And I can relate, as just a few months ago I lost both my dogs. An errant hunter shot one of my Danes, which I had for 5 years. And his twin brother contracted intestinal tumors and had to be put down. Very hard thing for a man to do, as it is a loss that I will feel for quite some time.

Sorry to hear that Warren. Putting down my dog was one of the toughest things I've ever had to do. I know its the right thing to do, but that doesn't make it easy. I'm sure its little comfort now, but it looks like she had a good long life.
