Re: Aoshima harriers....:(

It's just an SUV...nobody really wants one, or cares about 'em...right?

Guess they're just testing the market for dumbed-down kits. I don't care about the chassis much, it's better than all the wire-axle Tamiya kits w/no steering, but the interior bucket is a throwback to the bad days, rather inexcusable. Maybe that's what it takes now to even get a kit made, cutting pennies at every corner.

Re: Aoshima harriers....:(

if it's a snap tite kit, then that is a really nice snap tite kit! It actually has about as many parts as the aoshima and fujimi (older) S13 and S14, but I do have to agree, the interior is a real let down. I bet, however the body is one great piece of work.

Re: Aoshima harriers....:(

It looks a bit simplified, but whether this is a cost cutting trend company wide or for just this kit is a more pertinent question. It is an SUV and probably won't sell super well, so perhaps for this particular kit the sales projection warranted a cheaper tooling. Hopefully this is the case and they'll pick it back up again with their sports and racing cars. In any case, I'd imagine the moldings are marvelously crisp and the fit is nearly perfect, like all the other Aoshima kits I've ever put together.

Re: Aoshima harriers....:(

i am sure its not snap kit. i`ve ordered mine first day it came - i was afraid of fast solding out. notice hlj has already low stock on it.
one piece chassis have all newer tamiya kits (sometimes die cast flat panel right?). bucket interior can be cut and detialed, but who cares of interior? i dont. airbrush and paint some dashboard detail and its done. i am looking forward to fast straight build. monogram kits stress relief )
less details inside, but you can bet mine piece will be black and polished to super smooth shine gloss. final effect counts, not bucket interior.
and its SUV (people want SUVs )

Body is molded in silver, with interior and chassis molded in black. Rear windows are tinted. Includes a great set of stock Harrier five-spoke matte chrome rims. Decals are included for the interior and exterior. Wheels turn and are steerable. Right-hand drive interior only.
I'll be getting both versions if I can spare the cash. All I can say is, I LOVE SUVs!!!

Re: Aoshima harriers....:(

I preordered one from HLJ...Aoshimas are usually curbsides w/ one piece chassis, so that's expected, and since most Japanese kits have the side windows included, a tub-style interior is no big deal, IMHO.... maybe they or Fujimi will do an Infiniti FX to go with it...

Aoshima's time and money would have been better spent producing a Mercedes S-class, with the AMG, Lorinser, etc. editions.
