Re: remote starter

You just need to find the "brain". Its probably mounted up under the dash somewhere. Find it and read the brand name off the box.

What remote starter to get

I'm looking to purchase a remote starter for my 04 Silverado but am not sure which one to buy. I've been to Auto Alarm Pro.com (http://www.autoalarmpro.com/remote_car_starters) and see they have a pretty good site that tells me what bypass I need also. Actaully, they send you the exact one you need based on what your vehicle type is and what system you purchase.

Does anyone have a part number I can order straight from GM and install that is OEM? I want the best kit for my vehicle so I don't have future problems.

The systems seem pretty straight forward to install (from what I've read) with the bypass but how much wire searching do you have to do?

Any help is appreciated...and yes, I'm a new member...

Today Monday, 29 Oct, I went by the dealer and they said they don't have a remote starter system I can buy. He referred me to a local shop which when I called they told me they sale Excalibur. He couldn't tell me the model number until they saw my truck and figured out which bypass boxes I would need.

Has anyone got any info on Excalibur? I don't want to waste my money.
Thanks

Now I'm looking at a Code Alarm SRT 5500 elite with remote start. Anyone got any suggestions?
Thanks
