About 100m down the road from our place is a rather wealthy swanky street where all the house owners spend about 10grand a year on lights and decorations.
Then come xmas we get ques of cars up and down our street as ppl try and take a look.
Whats worse is now my Flatmate has gotten into her head that our place should also be decorated, so we have some very pathetic shinny stars in the window, and some fairy lights around the patio.
Ill take pics one night for ya

We don't usually decorate our house. But this year we will be going to Melbourne from the 21st to the 5th, so it is pointless doing ours anyway this year...

I did this weekend (at the request of my girlfriend).

A few strands of lights outside, some in the large front window, and some in the dining room. She hung up the stockings too, and put this wicker sleigh-thing on the coffee table filled with chocolate/mint Hershey's Kisses (which lasted about 3 hours with her around).

She's already bugging me about getting a tree, but I'm putting my foot down. by the time christmas actually rolls around, it'd be all dry and stuff.

We have a small fake tree that we put up and a few strands of lights for some bushes outside. Simple and not gaudy as you see elsewhere.

We're going low key this year, just a few lights on the roof and some reindeer out front and our tree.
funny thing is, our tree comes prestrung with lights and it revolves.

I have a Christmas tree, but other than that I only have a Santa on the balcony- not much I can do when I live in a Hi-Rise

Oh Canada....
White Christmas!
Fuck the house...I won't be here,
All that said, there are some really tacky, awful decorations around us. Ugly..

I walked up and down Franklin Road in Auckland in the weekend to see folks with their Xmas lights.

In contrast, I live down a quiet right of way on the North Shore and decorating is pointless because a) most folk don't come over b) I meet most folk in town c) I'm not into the commercial/religious parts of Xmas more the family parts...

We won't be doing any external lights or anything like that. Just the Christmas tree which will probably be put up this weekend.

My family forced me to help bring the tree up from the basement. I hate decorating. Oh, and at school, my roommate has strung icicle lights all about the room, and put a tinsel swag aroung our door. What a joy. :o

I'm not really decorating my place this year - I'm on the 2nd story of an apartment complex and I'm spending xmas at my parents' house anyhow.

I probably will go buy some decorations when they're on 50% off the day after xmas, though. For several years I had tinsel hanging in my windows as curtains, it was quite pretty. I like shiny things.

I'm not big on decorating for a holiday when Im not gonna be here anyways. My roommates decided that "to fit in, in the neighborhood, we had to put up lights...So this weekend, when the guys are done putting down the hard wood floor....(I hate the carpet we HaD in here) So this weekend, rain or snow, hot or below zero, we will be putting up lights and finding a christmas tree...What a joy. Then on top of it I have finals monday morning, this is gonna be a GREAT weekend...haha yeah right
