95 chevy 2500 454 with spark and fuel wont start

Strange things happen here. Battery has died on and off for past week or so, turns out fuel pump runs till it kills battery. OK, I replace fuel pump. Still runs non-stop. I replace relay, still runs non-stop, by the way, it is important for me to mention that it will no longer start, it has always started after jump starting the dead battery. Not now though. Back to what I started saying, changed harness after relay still the pump ran, or seemed to. I was monkey around with wires looking for short to another hot wire and then tried to pull a plug wire and it finally stopped. Now it seems to stop after thirty seconds when the ignition is turned off (I assume that is working properly). That is nice, however it will not start. It turns over fine, I get my spark ftom wire to block and I have confirmed fuel to throttle body on both lines. It is too late for me to go to the autoparts store for me to try the next option, and the folks at my local store are not much help selling me piece by piece a new truck.

Did I burn my rotor or ignition module or whatever? Can I be getting spark but not start?

I sure would appreciate any help and advice. Thanks.

I would check the fuel pressure. Its possible the FPR is stuck closed and not letting fuel get to the rails. If thats the case the pump is confused; the truck is telling it to run, but there is no pressure at the injectors.

I would check the plugs for fire, and maybe pull a couple injectors and make sure they're squirting.

Re: 95 chevy 2500 454 with spark and fuel wont start

Thanks Curtis73. I feel like checking ther injectors is the best plan. I am getting fire, even fires up with a little gas dumped in the throttle bopdy, just dies right away. If I remove either gas line from the throttle body they pump the gas out fast. Now if I just knew where the injectors where? I'll see if I can't figure that one out while I wait for some body here to fill me in. Thanks again.

The injectors are in the throttle body. They are the two little kinda egg-shaped things suspended over the throttle body. Heck you probably don't even have to remove them. Just crank and you'll be able to see liquid fuel squirt on the butterflies. If you don't, then you may have just found the problem.

Well, I sure do not see any fuel squirting, but could it also be something electrical. I have now replaced the pressure regulator and the ignition module is fine. Still not starting or squirting, Chevy dealer is willing to diagnose it for $75+.
