Is this true?

I live in Tennessee and some people keep telling me that Ferrari's are illegal here. I think it is total bull. They say that they are illegal because they can outrun a cop car. Is there any truth to this? They also claim that any car that can outrun a cop car is illegal.

First of all, any ferrari could beat a cop car, well except for a mondial, heh and i hope to all heck that its not true because thats just not fair to not allow the greatest sports car to grace your roads because its fast, that would be a travesty. you should seriously go to some police station and ask them about that...

That would suck. That also means though that most Porsches, Lamborghinis, Audi, BMW's and Mercedes would also be outlawed. It just dosen't fit. Also, If you had a Ferrari, it's not like there's million of them around it would just be an easy trip to the DMV to get the registration and such.

I sort of figured that it could not be true. But I have never seen a Ferrari or any other exotic car. I don't even think they have a dealership in Tennessee.

I know a person in Knoxville, TN with a 328GTS so someone is just pulling your leg

And SB927... Quit picking on that Mondial. Someday you and your wife are going to need two seats to put those two kids in a convertible and you'll be happy with that Mondial T Cabriolet

Yeah but why not get that all illusive 355 spider, or 360...

Because then the little tikes would have to cram into the trunk.

Well, the hood. It would'nt be very nice in the trunk of an F355 or 360. CraigFL, I know you have a 328GTS, do you have any more Ferraris? I've never seen anyone stand up for a Mondial before.

Well, I mean the front. BTW, does that switch around in mid/rear engined cars? Because the trunk is always the trunk, front or back or side, but is the hood still the hood if the hood is in the back?

Bonnet's the hood, bad for kids. Boot's the trunk, good for kids.

the 328 is my only Ferrari for now.... ( maybe a F355 TS in the future!)

I'm not sure I understand why people don't like the Mondial. I think Pininfarina did a nice job with the styling. I'm not a fan of the berlinetta because I like spiders and TS models better so I think the Mondial Cab looks great. It has every bit of the performance of the 308/328/348 similiar model with the benefit of the rear seat. Maybe most people can't envision a Ferrari with a rear seat??? I also believe some think of the 3L version choked by emission standards from the early 80s (but just like the 308 model) and don't consider the 3.2L or the "T" car(3.4L). Anyway, if you needed more than a two passenger F car, why wouldn't you choose a Mondial? And they're a bargain!!

Well I don't hate it, I just know little about it. I guess the mondial is a good "family" car the only other Ferrari would be a 456GT wouldn't it? Or would thier be some other older ones? An F355 TS? Well now that sounds like a very good choice.

Isn't there a 308 GT4 that has rear seats too? i'm kidding, i really do love the mondial, but if i had a choice between that and a 348 or 308 or 328 i'd chose those over the mondial. its styled better.

Old Ferrari 400's (and later versions of the same car, 412...) have rear seats. Some were even automatic.
