AWD question

my friend has a stock 1995 BMW 525 i and he doesn't want to drive it in snow because it is RWD and he spun it around once and it freaked him out. so my question is; is it possibe to make it AWD without too muck work or money? and at a guess what do you think it would cost?

Re: AWD question

sure....sell it and buy a subaru. Very little work, and will have some money left over to put BMW emblems on it

Otherwise, not a chance

Re: AWD question

It would be cheaper to buy a new BMW. Not easy in the least. The whole front of the unibody is different, the tranny, engine oil pan, crossmember, suspension, wheels, the works.

I used to drive my V8 Impala SS with wide summer-only performance rubber in PA winters. If he's worried about it, tell him to get some Blizzaks and drive the heck out of it.
