1998 Mercury Grand Marquis Door Lock Striker

The problem that I have with the door lock is the striker:
The 1" black band is gone.

Please let me know if getting the striker thru Internet (cheaper than the dealer), would I have any problem in replacing it? I have the special bit and drill.

Please advise.

They are easily replaced. Should not be a problem for you.

Wrap electrical tape around it No seriously! It works...for a few weeks. Or go to the parts store and get one. I paid about 8 bucks I think.
