I need a new motor, and some facts
hey i'm a no0b, just wanted to throw that out there...
anyway i need a new motor cause my DX motor just aint cuttin it. i got 97 civic dx. anyway i want a VTEC kick ass motor, what are the ups and downs of each of them? which one should i go with, which is easiest to put in and how long will it take? AND COST?? |

this question has been awensered a million times!!!! search the fourm..
if you know enough to be a nOOb..you would know just to search.... Ex.B16 or b18.......h22..there r many threads up right now which dive into this already...in the end it's all opinion Welcome to AF......:bandit:

yeah its like shep said its all about opinion and acutually how much you wanna spend and how fast do you wanna go
b16a, b18c, or h22a. all these have vtec and they are all kick ass engines. i would say b16a swap is $3500, b18c $4500, h22a $5000. |

where did you get h22 = 5000? they are cheaper than b18's and i dont think its gonna be acouple thousand for it to be installed

the b18s are a direct bolt in, and is pretty much plug and play. but with the h22a you need a bolt in mount kit, probably a new wiring harness, probably custom axles unless integra axles will work, but idk if b to h will work. so its kinda like swaping in a b16 into a 4th gen dx, and all hte extra parts you need and ive been quoted 3000 for a b16a swap into a 4thgen, and since you pretty much need the same parts, i am assuming it will cost about $2000 for installtion plus the price of the motor, whatever it is. so i say about $2000-3000 for a h22a, so about $5000 give or take a few hundred, around there

well around here ive been quoted 2000-2200 for a b16 into a 4g, and at the time i asked about into a dx i dont think it matters tho
