I wanted to have an intermittent wiper setting because I think LOW is way too fast unless it's raining heavy. Is this a hard thing to do? Is there much wiring involved, and could anyone tell me how to do it? The only wiper arms I can find with the INT setting are the ones with a rear wiper too, which I don't have or want. A long time ago I saw a wiper arm in an older accord that looked just like mine only it had the INT setting, could I use that? And how do you pull it from the steering wheel column without breaking it? ...has anyone done this before?

I have to ask whether the wiring in the column would need to be modified usng a Honda "stalk" from another car. Check the JCWhitney catalog and Pep Boys. Both had an upgrade device to do this at one time.

Actually all you have to do is replace the control arm for the int wiper from a dx or si hatch or crx. Just unscrew the control arm box (two screws) and pull outward. The other control arm fits and plugs right up.
Then you have to find the intergratted control unit from a dx or si hatch or crx. It's just a simple little box that's behind the fuse box. One way to tell the std and dx/si units apart is that that std has a big A on the front while the other has a big B on the front. Just unclip from the housing and then unplug it and then plug the B unit in it's place. Put everything back together and you should have intermittent windshield wipers. |

Re: Installing an Intermittent Wiper?
It might be your integratted control unit behind the fuse box. One of my friends had the same problem but never cared to change it. If the car is set outside alot, then the unit might actually be bending to all the heat and cold. I'm not sure though, but that's my guess.
