C5 Shift Knob Removal

I need to take my shift knob off in a C5 Corvette. It doesn't just spin off... does anyone have any idea?

Is this automatic or manual?

I'm not sure about the manual shift knob but on an automatic:

Engage your e-brake. Press the brake and shift down into first. On the front of the knob toward the bottom there is a u-shaped pin. You can pop it out with a small screwdriver and the knob will now slide off.
