dam if i had the cash for a 2003, i would definately go with the 200hp VR6, Sick-Speed (6 speed) . in that really dark grey color, mmmmmm. i start driving soon and i have no clue what i'm getting probably an E30 Beamer or a MKIII GTi... but yeah go with that on the new stock 17's and smoke som civics for all of us... happy hunting!

hey honda suck im plannin on gettin either an A3 gti (plus charger) or the exact 2003 you just described man with the leather fully loaded minus the rims plus a turbocharger (hehe bad idea but i dont care) there is about a 15k price difference but im thinkin hey your only young once and you might as well finance the thing while you still dont have to worry bout housing hehe so im still undecided either is a great choice

haha, awesome... yeah i'll only be 16 next month (december) but either idea is a great one. i also happen to be in love with the A3 so i don't even know what to tell you... but we test drove the 1.8T and i think, since i would keep it stock (pretty much) i would stay with the 1.8T. QUICK little hatchbacks man! not to be reckoned with. well good luck anyway killerisme!!!!

Totally depends on the car you most want IE vr6=smooth power delivery all ranges quality low end torque/ or 1.8t=tunable EXTREMLY simply a apr chip will put you high end and 0-60 higher then a vr6. 1.8=chpper it mostly will depend if you want to tune your car or not. Trim levals will vary between models greatly you just have to go seem them foryourself and drive both...more then one time. Also i would recomend you check out www.vwvortex.com great sorce.

I have a 01 GTI VR6 and personaly would not consider the 1.8t not to say its not GREAT.

If you wondering yes VW fixed the window reg trouble with 03 and all 850,000 other affected cars (according to vw Aurburn Hills MI) have extention of warenty.

i will solve the prolem of the vr6 not being tunable. im seriously considering getting the a3 vr6 puttin 4000 into it and turbo charging it with controller and everything so i can have it a simple 5-7 boost for normal and when i wanna fuck around put it up to like 12-15. then i will rebadge it and make it look like the golf 3 gl hahah can you say supersleeper.. .no 1 will ever know they will just think i put nice rims and tinto n a gl and be like what a bitch and try to kall me a gay ass ricer then pssssst and they are in the mirror.. haha what do you guys think?

If you want a GTI..go with the GTI R337 car...6 speed with a 1.8t with more pep motor..too bad they are not sending the other series of GTI's over..i believe its called the r37 but not sure..it just that VW took the idea of putting a big engine in a small car..

Just to clear things up: Volkswagen has made 3 limited production run MK IV Golfs.

The 25. Aniversary Golf GTi, made for the European market.
The Golf GTi 337 Edition, for the American market.
And the Golf R32 for the European and American market.

I will be getting a A4 but i also thought about the GTI but decided i liked the A4 better. The A4 has so much easy potenial it can make 400hp with out having to do inner engine mods. All you have to do is easy things like chip, intake, spark plugs, radiator ect.... you would be suprised how many A4s their are around with 300hp+ then if you are hardcore like me then you move onto inner engine mods then you can make 800hp+. Also the A4 has QUATTRO which is so much better than the GTIs Fwd. Also some say pick the GTI 1.8T because its lighter but its really not all that lighter than the A4 but again WHO CARES THE A4 HAS QUATTRO which more than makes up for a little exta weight. While im taking about tracktion have you ever seen an audi quattro race if you havent find a friend who has an A4 quattro make sure its quattro because not all are and luanch with it they have sooooo much traction its amazing, with quattro you will get the upper hand off the line when racing almost every time. So you can ask other people about Fwd and quattro and im sure they will tell you quattro is better. As for the VR6 i like them but people have told me they dont have easy HP potenial, you have to do more difficult mods like drive tran and some other stuff I cant think of right now, also they have said that its cant take a lot of abuse. So i would take the A4 but thats just my opinion other people like other things. But again for me it was Fwd vs Quattro cause remember it dosnt matter how much power you have if you dont have traction.

P.S dos anyone know if VW is planing to make a Rwd GTI/Jetta or a 4wd GTI/Jetta if they are then if you still want to get a GTI wait for the 4wd or Rwd if their will be one.

Good luck with the new car.
Have you decided on what A4 you want? New, used, 1.8t, 3.0?
Anyway, Volkswagen has 4wd Jettas/Golfs, but they aren't sold in the US.
