Using lotion/oil on flat paint for simulated leather. Lasts how long?
I have been searching the archives for tips on simulated leather look. Using skin oil or lotion on flat black paint has come up a bunch of times, and the results look pretty good.
But I am wondering, how long does this look last? Does the oil eventually cause any adverse effects on the paint? Anyone have experience with this on a model that is more than say, 5 years old? Thanks |

Re: Using lotion/oil on flat paint for simulated leather. Lasts how long?
I don't know about how long it lasts, but if you use too much it will soften the paint to the point that it will come off when rubbed(at least thats what happened with me recently...maybe I didn't let the paint dry long enough?)
