Student doing a speach on 2003 Cbbra V. 2003 ZO6

It is suppose to be a persuassive speach, so I am going to try and persuade the class to buy the snake over the Vetter.

I will need 3 main points, but can only think of 2 right now in favor of the Cobra. They will be:

1.) Price/Cost
2.) Performance
3.) ???????????

I was thinking maybe an easier way to achieve even more performance by adjusting the boost with a new pulley....but that is only ONE UPGRADE] and I should really have about three things to fall under it. However, I suppose that can go under performance. Maybe the idea of a 4 seater will be a better main point?

Any help is appreciated!! In fact, if anyone here would rather have the ZO6 tell me why. I need to know both sides of the argument in order to speak my point easier. I will also find a Vette forum and ask the same basic questions... Also, if anyone has ANY sites available to me, please post for me!

I would rather have the Z06... more refined (my opinion), more luxurious, and it has a sleeker design...

Maybe you could compare Price/Cost, Straight Line Performance, and Cornering Performance?

The Z06 has the cobra beat in every aspect. Handling, acceleration, performance per dollar, even reliability.

All the cobra has to offer is back seats and a lower price tag.

The only way to persuade them to buy the Cobra over the Z06 is to tell them they only have 38K to spend.

I'd rather have the Vette over the Snake too but it's mostly cause of the feeling that comes with a Vette. But as far as performance, handling etc.., the Snake is not that far behind. What I would use as my 3rd point about choosing the Snake is that it is very easily a 400+hp car and with the aftermarket part market for mustang the parts for that car will be a lot cheaper than the corvette and the ability to make it beat the corvette in all facets would be less than the cost difference between the two

2- Thats the dumbest speech idea I've ever heard- Talk about the rainforest or something- the more intellectual the better the marks

3- Why on Earth is a Cobra (Mustang I am guessing- not AC) better than a Corvette- the Corvette has the comparision sewn up

there is a dark blue Z06 in flushing queens. that car is sooo freakin beautiful :drool: as much as i like the new cobra.... the Z06 just has it beat. the Cobra is suppose to compete with a standard C5. not a Z06

See thats the problem, the 03 cobra is supposed to compete with the c5 vette, with out the charger its only 30 less horsepower, but anyway the cobra absolutley murders the c5 and runs right beside a z06 in the quarter. The cobras are so restricted coming out of the factory, they have the potential of being well over 500 horsepower take a look:

Now of course the z06 is a better car. Its in a different league. It cost 55 grand were as a cobra cost 34 for the coup and 37 for the convertible, thats even way cheaper than the c5. For the money, the cobra is the best bargin out there. Its barley a couple grand more than a new 280 horse Z.

Um......dude.......no. The Z does not cost 55k. Depending on where you get it, if you get one at a good place, you can pay 50-51 grand for a 03 ZO6. And if you can, check out the May 2003 issue of Motor Trend, they matched a C5 Vette against a '03 Cobra, and heres a direct quote outta the magazine...."The Corvette proved slightly quicker off the line. The Cobra lagged a mere .14 second slower to 60 mph and .10 seconds slower covering the quarter mile." Now to me thats pretty much dead even, but hey going by numbers, the naturaly aspirated C5 Vette was still faster than the supercharged Mustang. And the vette has 40 less hp!!! Now you wanna talk consumer crap, the Vette has more trunk space and is way more "city driving" freindly. The Vette also handles better than any american car made right now, it is Americas, best performing car. It wont beat no viper at a stop light stock, but put em on a track, and the Z will smoke both the viper and the cobra.So going by that, what do you think a ZO6 would do to a Cobra? I'll end it with that. The best Vette, just got "Vetter"

No, the 2003 Cobra has 390, at the flywheel, at sea level. 405hp for the Vette, again, at the flywheel and at sea level. Just from what i've heard, the ZO6 w/ 405hp has 375 rear wheel hp, and the cobra has 360 rear wheel hp.

the 350hp non z06 corvette is faster than the cobra. i have a motor trend (may 2k3-page 70) that compares them and the vette ran a 4.72 0-60 and a 13.02-1/4, the stang was 4.86 0-60 and 13.12-1/4. an extra 532 lbs is a lot for the ford to push even with the hp advantage. a z-06 has to be no contest
