civic vs. ram 1500

in my auto mechanics class the 4 fastest cars are a 65 stang, my civ (98ex), another civic(95dx), and a ram 1500. now all these cars run like 17's haha you would think there would be some wuick cars in an auto class, but hey, we're all poor kids. the 95 dx smokes the stang, and i can beat the dx by a foot with slow shifting due to two cut tendons but this kid with the ram is saying he can beat us all and hes extremely fast, ect... i heard the ram absolutely spanked the stang. i noticed the rams most powerful engine is 245 horses. are these trucks that fast? will they beat a civic w/ i/h/e? hes pretty cocky, id believe it cause its not like our cars are fast, but i means.. its a truck.

well, 285 hp is nice, but look at its torque, well over 300

He has enough to get him up and moving....I think hell take you, if you had some more performance mods, like a different intake manifold with cam swap, or a N20 setup, I would say you would defentally take him, but as it is now I dont think so.

Race and let us know!

From the sounds of it........ONLY NITROUS CAN SAVE YOU NOW.

My friend has a ram 1500 and that thing gets up and goes! He doesn't race but damn I know he can beat me.

Let's put it this way. I wouldn't race him for slips if i was you......LOL

Let us know how the race goes.

yeah his stats are nice, but ive beaten a chevy 2500 truck with the vortech intake or whatever and its rated at like 290 horses, 430 tq... sure his truck weighs 6000 pounds and it made for towing but i beat it haha. Unfortunatly i cant drive my car for 6+ weeks cause of this damn surgery so ill see if that 95 civic wants to race him... unless i raced him with the car im currently driving, 93 toyota camry wagon lol.

Yeah what happened was i had a little glass bottle in my hand with a cork on the end.. it was yin chiao if anyones into that herbal shit youll know what im talking about heh.. well the cork wouldnt go on so i squeezed it hard and it busted, cut a perfect circle right below my middle finger. i had a callous there and it literally punched it out. i went to the ER and they took the glass out and stitched me up. since then my finger never really worked right, but i thought i was healed well enough to go bowling... well apparently the tendons were partially severed and picking up something heavy ended up tearing em. couldnt move my finger at all so i went back to the hospital and went under for a 2 1/2 hour tendon repair. i cut it right where the tendon from your arm branches off to the two joint on your finger... the worst possible place. now i wear a stupid plastic splint that keeps my wrist bent down at all times and have a rubber band from my finger nail to my wrist to keep my finger bent. 6 weeks until that comes off, then limited use after that (like no picking up anything more than 2 lbs) there goes my plans to start on my car right when i get this thing off. hopefully they'll let me shift when this comes off, i really want my car. my mom took a pic of my hand so ill post it if it ever gets developed. its somewhat humorous.

Hey genious! hey said 245.. not 285. :hehehe: ( i can say that cause he's my friend)

Anywho, My boss has a 01 Ram1500 with the 318. Only mod is a cold air intake that he got for free when doing a job for a customer. I get to run errands in it every once in a while and it gets up and boogies for a 5000lb toad. Handles good too at speed, once my boss got really sick and i had to drive him home off a job site some 50 miles from his house. He didnt seem to mind too much that i was cruising at 90mph. Of course he didnt want to puke in his truck so getting home was a priority.

So yeah my boss's truck only makes 230hp 300tq + cold air intake so maybe 5-10hp more?. But its fun to hotrod around in.

Yeah, the 360ci only has about 245hp, but they will get up and scoot. I can't wait for them to put the Hemi in the 1500s, go and take one for a spin, that an the Neon SRT-4.
