Intrigue Starting/Passlock problem??!!! 1998 intrigue

Here's the deal. Sometimes, and lately more often than not, the security light will come on, and stay on, so my car will not start. I'll leave the key in the on position for 10-15 mins, and sometimes it will start, sometimes not. Has been happening for months now, and fortunately I've not been late for work. I have a new battery, changed the key switch, had the car scanned numerous times. Last suggestion was the ignition switch, but I've read on many posts of those doing so, and having the problem resurface. When my car does start, it runs and drives GREAT!........But this is really driving me nutso!
What really drives me crazy is that the alarm doesn't even work! Wondering if I have a different alarm installed, will that bypass the original and keep my rolling???
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated all........

Welcome Aboard!

An aftermarket alarm system will not disable nor replace the PassLock system.

When having your system scanned, did technicians verify good serial communications on the data bus?

I'm not so sure what that means but, I will ask.....
Any idea how to get to the ignition switch.....just for a quick cleaning, and if so, what can I use?

I just used some electronics cleaner, not the canned air, but some stuff labeled "electronics cleaner" that i got from the local parts store. Since cleaning mine, i havent had any troubles, but its only been about a week.
