Unhappy Why do side mirrors hate me?

So I just took my recently completed WRX apart to take out the grill and touch up the front emblem with MicroSol, and when I put it all back together, one of the damn side mirrors is gone!

So then I look al over the place, and the WRX mirror is nowhere to be found, but I happen to find the side mirror to my MR2! It's been missing for as long as I can remember! :o

ARRRGGHHHHOOGOGGKKKLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jay,
Why does that bring a windshield to mind?
Seems you don't have much luck with these things do you?
I am sure if you are patient, you will find it, keep looking.

Okay, I found it.

It's amazing how far a single side mirror can travel under its own power. I mean, it doesn't even have wheels!

They must be able to teleport. :o

My Karmann Ghia is now without its driver's side mirror too

 Knocked it off when showing off the S600 to a friend of mine whom I bought the Merc from, and just knowcked it off. I was able to find the support, but the mirror itself is pretty much lost to future generations!

I feel your pain, IMO they should include extra side mirrors in the kit, to accomodate for clumsy modelers like us :licker:

OK, to resolve the flying mirror issue, why not try the following. Drill a small whole in the support of the mirror and one at the exact loaction where it should go. Then from some sprue, make a pin the fits into both wholes. first glue it to the mirror and once dry you can attach it to the body where the other whole is. It'll be much stronger now.

Just a thought.

Yes, this tip has been mentioned a couple of times (including, IIRC, by me), but it's not aplicable to some models. E.g. my Karmann Ghia - mirror supports are way too thin and fragile.
