Re: digital dic wiring

I took a dry run on this mod today.I hooked all the wires up and I did not get the display to light up.The dic I have came off a 2000 grand prix and it seems that the wiring harness from the 2000 has some conflicting wires, example two brown wires (as mine only has one) and one gray wire ( mine needs two) and the tan data wire that controls the mpg and miles until empty,The problem with the tan wire is,where it hooks up you must splice into where the OBDII contects into the data block.I do not like the fact that you need to splice into such a major componant to do this, you could seriously mess your car up by doing this. so I belive that I am going to abort this mod and sell the dic with wire harness (plug with factory wires) and leave the analog in.
I know people are going to ask me do you even know if worked in the first place? and my answer is yes.All you need to do to see if the display works is get a 9volt battery and hook the orange and brown wire to the positve and the two black wires to the negative. If any body who reads this has done the mode please post what you did so you can help others.
