Blizzak WS-50 mileage estimates???

I know Blizzaks wear fast on dry roads and in my area we get a mixture of dry and snowy roads in the winter season. I just got some blizzaks for my T/A and I would like to have some idea how many miles (or winters) I might get out of them. I know there are a lot of variables here, but can anybody tell me how long theirs lasted? I tried a search, but nobody has said how long theirs have lasted. I probably only drive about 1000 miles in the winter. If I can get a decent number of winter uses from them I'll feel better. I know they're good tires and on a T/A I need them, but I'm wondering if I should have gone with a tougher snow tire since I won't be driving on snow 100% of the time. Thanks.

3-4 seasons is typical ... I am on my third at this time

That doesn't sound too bad. I'm out of work and it was a big expense for me but I just felt I may be pushing my luck getting by with all season radials for 13 years now. The Goodrich Comp T/A's have been good though. We've had a lot of mild winters lately and the thought of driving in bad weather is scary in this car. I've had minor losses of control going as slow as 5 mph in parking lots and on side streets with the all seasons. Even the front tires would lose grip with mild braking despite having the weight of the engine over them.
